The Berry Writers Festival will hold its inaugural event on the weekend of October 21st - 23rd 2022. Come and share three days of ideas and inspiration in the beautiful historic village of Berry.
The Festival will feature emerging and distinguished authors from many writing genres as well as thinkers and creatives who will share their insights and experience.
There will be over thirty sessions featuring conversations, workshops and panels as well as performances and fun events to enjoy.
The festival precinct is in the heart of Berry so there will be plenty of opportunity to sample all of the sophistication and charm that the town has to offer.
Tickets will be available for each session so that you can tailor the festival to suit your interests.
We will welcome, inspire and engage you in the lovely setting of ‘The Town of the Trees'.
President
Suzanne is a sociologist, research consultant, marketing and communication specialist. She is also author of an award-winning novel, Almost Invincible, a biographical novel of Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein, and a collection of poetry Socio-Illogical.
Vice President / Secretary
Christa Wood had a varied career, including company director, HR consultancy, trust and company assessor, and over 20 years as an academic. She is passionate about volunteer work and sits on several boards of community organisations.
Freelance Editor and Publishing Consultant
Mary is a former publisher and literary agent -- now a freelance editor and publishing consultant -- with extensive experience in the industry in both the United States and Australia.
Treasurer
Stephanie has been a chartered accountant for many years, specialising in financial reporting, audit and regulatory issues. She has written numerous articles and was technical editor of The Audit and Assurance Handbook Australia. She is now a partner in a small forensic accounting business.
Solicitor
Liz Parnell is the principal solicitor and managing director of Parnell + Brien Solicitors, a busy legal practice based in the heart of Berry which offers conveyancing, commercial, estate and family law services to its many clients. Liz also provides a twice-monthly pro bono legal service through the Shoalhaven Women’s Health Centre and is a committee member of the Berry Chamber of Commerce and the South Coast Family Law Pathway Network.
