Danielle Celermajer

Danielle Celermajer, who lives in Berry,  is a Professor of Sociology and Social Policy and Deputy Director of the Sydney Environment Institute at the University of Sydney.  Her most recent  book, SummertimeReflections on a Vanishing Future,  was written in the aftermath of the 2020 fires and with the  urgent message that we must recognize  the harms to all living things that climate catastrophe produces.  

Her previous books include Sins of the Nation and the Ritual of Apology and The Prevention of Torture: An Ecological Approac;  A Cultural History of Law in the Modern Age (with Richard Sherwin) ,  the Subject of Human Rights ( with Alexandre Lefebrve):  and with Moira Gatens and Millicent Churcher, Institutional Transformations: Imagination, Embodiment, and Affect.

Summertime; Reflections on a Vanishing Future (Penguin Random House) a book about the experience of climate catastrophe in the intentional multispecies community where she lives.
