Lisa Heidke

Lisa Heidke is a journalist by trade, but her passion is for writing contemporary fiction, typically stories about women in their thirties and forties, navigating friendships, careers, romance, and ultimately triumphing over adversity.

She has five novels published with Allen & Unwin, Australia. Her most recent novel, Lily’s Little Flower Shop is published by new publisher, Bloodhound Books UK under the pen name, Lisa Darcy. It asks, 'can life ever be a bed of roses?' Lily’s shop’s setting is based on a village like Gerringong.


SO YOU WANT TO WRITE A ROMANCE?

In this three-hour course, learn the tools and techniques to build passionate characters who will overcome emotional and physical obstacles to forge strong and powerful relationships and an enduring love that will have your reader captivated from the very beginning of your story.

  • Engage your readers with powerful hooks, compelling cliff hangers and escalating conflicts.
  • Discover techniques for writing strong beginnings, avoiding sagging middles and finishing with a satisfying ending.
  • We’ll touch on tenses, point of view, as well as writing believable enthralling dialogue.

By the end of this workshop, in addition to have written your first pages and a synopsis, you will have learned how to develop plot and structure best suited for your romantic story.
