Because Words Matter

The Age of Rage: Is Civility Dead & Buried?

Is civilized discourse -- the ability and indeed the willingness to agree to disagree – becoming a remnant of the past? Why is rage often the fuel igniting  the  exchange of opinion in the public arena and what are the consequences of the fires that ensue? Can the often destructive genie of social media be put back in its bottle and, if so,  how? Poet and novelist Omar Sakr; Hannah Ferguson, author and CEO of Cheek Media Co.; and  poet and visual artist Judith Nangala Crispin discuss these urgent questions.
