Close friends Grace Tame (Australian of the Year, activist and author of The Ninth Life of a Diamond Miner), and author and educator Daisy Turnbull (50 Risks To Take with Your Kids, 50 Questions to Ask Your Teens) will let you eavesdrop as they sit down to have one of those conversations that count – about risks, reward, friendship and contentment.

Grace Tame

Grace Tame is a survivor of child sexual abuse, a columnist, campaigner and the author of a best-selling memoir, The Ninth Life of a Diamond Miner. She is the founder and CEO of The Grace Tame Foundation (GTF), a not-for-profit organisation which creates and funds initiatives to prevent, disrupt and respond to child sexual abuse. For her contribution to legal reforms that allow child sexual abuse survivors to tell their own stories publicly, Grace was named the 2021 Australian of the Year. She lives in Hobart and regularly competes in ultramarathons.

Daisy Turnbull

In January 2021, Daisy’s first book 50 Risks to take with your Kids was released, providing a guide on developing independence and resilience in young children. It is set to be translated into Chinese and Slovenian. Her second book 50 Questions to ask your Teens was released in February 2022, covering topics from job interviews, to ethics, and porn. Daisy is a teacher and author, and has worked as a Director of Coeducation as well as an accredited Lifeline Crisis Support counsellor who regularly volunteers on the national crisis support line.  In her career she has worked with students on programmes covering mental health training, financial literacy, consent education, and leadership. 

When not working, writing, or parenting her two children, Daisy is an avid reader and crocheter.
