Sally Hepworth

Sally Hepworth is the New York Times bestselling author of nine novels, most recently Darling Girls. She is also the author of Uncharted Waters, published by Amazon Original stories in 2022. Several of Sally’s novels have been optioned for TV and film, and are available around the world in English as well as having been translated into over twenty languages. She has sold over one million books worldwide.  

Sally lives in Melbourne, Australia with her family.  

Holly Wainwright

Holly Wainwright is the author of four novels, including the best-selling I Give My Marriage A Year and The Couple Upstairs, and has just finished her fifth, to be published by Pan Macmillan in 2025. She is also an editor with decades of experience in women's media, from managing magazine teams to growing digital platforms, writing online, and creating podcasts. Holly is co-host of Mamamia Out Loud, one of the most listened-to podcasts in the country. She lives here on the South Coast with her young family.

Amy Lovat

Amy Lovat is a writer, editor, and the founder of Secret Book Stuff. Her debut novel, Mistakes and Other Lovers, earned praise from Sally Hepworth, Hannah Kent and Emily Maguire, and her second novel is due for release with Pan Macmillan in 2025. 

Amy has a PhD in English and Writing from the University of Newcastle and has taught creative writing at universities and writers’ centres for more than a decade. Amy is the former program manager of Writing NSW and the current program manager of the Newcastle Writers Festival. Amy lives with her wife, a brood of animals, and thousands of books across unceded Awabakal and Gadigal country in NSW.

The Berry Writers Festival acknowledges the Dharawal and Dhurga language-speaking groups who are traditional owners of this area. We acknowledge their customs and culture, which have nourished, and continue to nourish, this land. And we extend our respects to Elders, past, present, and future.
