Three fiction writers discuss how they engage with visual images – and art – in their work. Angela O’Keeffe’s debut novel Night Blue is written from the point of view of Jackson Pollack’s Blue Poles; Fiona McGregor’s Indelible Inktells the story of middle-aged woman who gets her first tattoo and finds herself pitched into a new world as she is befriended by the artist who created it; and Delia Falconer’s acclaimed The Service of Clouds has as its main characters Eureka Jones, a young pharmacist’s assistant who falls in love with Harry Kitchings, a man who takes pictures of clouds and succumbs to the “madness of photography”.
