General Festival Volunteer
The Berry Writers Festival is seeking friendly, enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to help create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for audiences, authors and guests across the festival weekend.
Our volunteers are the face of the festival and play a vital role in ensuring events run smoothly.
Volunteer Duties
General volunteer responsibilities may include:
Greeting patrons and providing information
- Handing out festival programs
- Scanning tickets at venue entrances
- Ushering audiences into and out of sessions
- Assisting with audience Q&A by managing microphones
- Helping patrons with accessibility or special needs
- Managing queues before events
- Clearing up after catered events and functions
- Supporting festival sponsors
What We’re Looking For
We welcome volunteers who are:
- Friendly and approachable
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable interacting with the public
- Calm under pressure in busy environments
- Able to work as part of a team
- Passionate about books, writing and community events
No previous festival experience is required. Briefing information and any required training will be provided prior to the event.

Availability
Volunteers are needed across the festival weekend from Friday 6 November to Sunday 8 October. Full day or half day shifts are available.
