Venue Manager Volunteer
The Berry Writers Festival is seeking organised, confident and proactive Venue Managers to oversee the smooth operation of festival venues during the event weekend.
Venue Managers are responsible for coordinating venue activities, supporting volunteers and presenters, and ensuring audiences enjoy a safe, welcoming and well-run festival experience.
This is a key operational role suited to people with strong communication and problem solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Venue Manager responsibilities may include:
Supervising the operation of an assigned festival venue
Coordinating volunteers at their venue including ushers, ticket scanners and door staff
Facilitate sessions so that they are on schedule, managing operational issues that arise
Liaising with festival staff, moderators, authors and technical teams
Managing audience entry, seating and venue capacity
Responding calmly and efficiently to operational issues as they arise
Supporting accessibility requirements and audience assistance
Monitoring venue presentation, cleanliness and safety
Liaise with set up crew team manager to ensure efficient moving activities
Ensuring accurate communication between festival headquarters and venue teams
Supporting emergency procedures if required

Passionate about arts, literature and community events
Previous experience in events, theatre, festivals, hospitality or team leadership is highly regarded but not essential.

Availability
Venue Managers are required across the festival weekend from Friday 6 November to Sunday 8 November. Full day or half day shifts are available.
