6-8 November 2026

The Berry Writers’ Festival acknowledges the Dharawal and Dhurga language-speaking groups who are traditional owners of this area. We acknowledge their customs and culture, which have nourished, and continue to nourish, this land. And we extend our respects to Elders, past, present, and future.

Three of Australia's most celebrated First Nations writers, together in Berry.

Paul Callaghan (Leading from the Dreaming), Dr Amy Thunig-McGregor (Tell Me Again) and Stella Prize winner Evelyn Araluen on what First Nations knowledge can teach us about leading - at work, at home and in community.

If you've heard Paul Callaghan on 'The Imperfects', you already know: he doesn't do small talk. The hosts called it less an interview, more a lecture - and listeners loved it.

A former TAFE CEO who hit rock bottom in his thirties, Paul found his way back by walking Country with his Elders. His book 'Leading from the Dreaming' distils that into 8 principles for leading well.

Hear him live in Berry on Saturday 7 November.

Do these books look familiar?
If 'The Marvellous Submarine', 'Gimme Some Space!', the 'Bowerbird Blues' series or 'Tiki and Jill and the Great Australian Camel Race' have found their way onto your family bookshelf, here’s an opportunity for young readers to meet some of the wonderful people behind the stories.

Berry Writers’ Festival is delighted to partner with @bundanontrust for 'A Morning of Stories (and a Lifetime of Reading)' - a very special FREE event designed to inspire our next generation of readers, writers and big imaginations.

Children’s authors and creators Kate Simpson, Aura Parker, Clayton Zane Comber and Conor McCammon will bring storytelling to life, sharing where ideas and characters come from and how stories make their way onto the page.

And there’s something for the grown-ups too. While the kids get creative with a hands-on activity, Jennie Orchard will join our Artistic Director Tori Haschka for a conversation about the gift of reading and how we can nurture a lifelong relationship with books.
