Paula is the author of The One Remaining, Patron and immediate past Deputy Chair of the Stella Prize, and Stella’s NSW Ambassador. She is a founding trustee of McLean Foundation which supports literature, education, conservation and domestic violence programs. Paula is Patron of Pop In, a domestic violence day centre in the Southern Highlands of NSW and is a former board member of the Country Education Foundation of Australia.
In 2011 Paula began the Nature Writing Prize which is awarded biennially. She is a founding member of the She Gives Advisory Group, a national initiative to celebrate, connect and inspire women in their giving to accelerate positive social change. Amplifying the voice of women has been at the forefront of her work.
In 2021 Paula was awarded Philanthropy Australia’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
