Allison Tait spent several decades working as a journalist and freelance writer for a huge range of publications including CLEO, The Sydney Morning Herald, Vogue Australia, The Sunday Telegraph, Australian House and Garden, marie claire and more, before finding her true passion in writing novels for children.
Writing as A. L. Tait, she is the internationally published, bestselling author of 13 middle-grade novels, which have been shortlisted and longlisted for various awards, including the Margaret and Colin Roderick Literary Award, the CBCA Book of the Year, the Aurealis Awards and the Davitt Awards.
Allison is the co-host of the top-rating Your Kid’s Next Read podcast, co-founder of the Your Kid’s Next Read community and former co-host of the So You Want To Be A Writer podcast. She teaches creative writing for children at the Australian Writers’ Centre, and is co-author with Valerie Khoo of the Amazon bestseller So You Want To Be A Writer (How to get started while you still have a day job).
