A Scot turned Australian now living at Vincentia, Jervis Bay, Seana Smith studied Classics and Old and Medieval English at Wadham College, University of Oxford. She worked as a researcher and producer at Channel 9 in Sydney and at the BBC in London and Glasgow. None of this prepared her for the great task of motherhood. Seana’s four children are young adults now.
Seana is a long-time factual writer, most notably co-author of
The Australian Autism Handbook, now in its 5
th edition. Seana also freelanced and ran the commercial website Hello Sydney Kids.
Going Under, a Memoir of Family Secrets, Addiction and Escape was published by Ventura Press in 2024. Seana has self-published two books, of which
Wildly Weird but Totally True: Australia consistently sells well, as well as
Going Under. Seana has recently started writing fiction and finds it much harder!
